Carl Walker Metzgar was born and raised on a farm just outside Berlin where he spent his formative years raising cattle and driving tractors.

He is a graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and a Cum Laude Graduate of Frostburg State University with degrees in both Political Science and Criminal Justice.

Carl also earned a Juris Doctor Degree from the Duquesne University School of Law where he received the "Judge Manning Award for Highest Achievement in Trial Advocacy."

Carl is now proudly representing Somerset and Bedford County in Harrisburg where he serves not only as our State Representative, but as the Secretary of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.

He still raises feeder cattle at his home, remains a proud member of the NRA, and is truly honored to be the Grand Marshall for his hometown fair.
